Still for Sale!!

Fort Collins, CO

Update: March 21, 2012
I took the van to my mechanic recently for a check-up, and she's ready to go!

Hi, and thanks for looking at the van. I'm selling my 1989 VW Vanagon GT Campervan. I simply am not using it as much as I thought I would. It's in good shape, and I'm asking $15,000 firm for it. My mechanic is willing to answer any questions from potential buyers that I can't. Questions? email me at zipzelda@hotmail.com.

Features:
Automatic Transmission
Original 2.1L Engine
     - Odometer was repaired and reset to zero at 88,000 miles (I have the paperwork)
     - 28,500 miles on the odometer currently
Passed CO emissions in September 2011
Second battery behind/under the driver's seat
Pop-top with good canvas (original), working stove and water pump, 3 way fridge (propane function doesn't work, but it works on battery, so likely an easy fix)
Two tables
All curtains and the rear bug screen original and in good condition
Air Conditioning was fixed once, is not currently working
Manual windows and locks -- ah, simplicity!
Ready to take you on your next adventure

In addition to a bunch of small repairs and adjustments that were done when I bought it and then over time (all documented), here's a list of the things I've replaced since I purchased the van (also documented):

- Tires
- Alternator
- Right rear wheel bearings
- Fuel hoses and gas tank seals
- Cooling fan switch
- Rear hatch pistons
- Heater core
- Water pump

If you've wanted to own a Westy, this would be a great one to start with. Little things have been cared for over the years, so the upholstery doesn't have any tears, latches to things like the glove box and cabinets close and the arm rests still adjust. The exterior paint has a few minor imperfections, but is in very good shape.

Here's a pricing guide from Ebay Motors. It's a little hard to read, but down toward the bottom is this:
"Nice ‘86-‘87 Westy’s run about $12-18k, ‘88-‘89’s run about $14-20k, and ‘90-‘91’s run about $16-24k."

Thanks for stopping by.
